What About Me
Helen Bristow and Catherine Howard

Theme Song for COMIC
Chorus
I will remember you will you remember me
My face was one of many too many for you
I scream "What about me?" - help me see this through
See Mum experienced mental illness - none of it her fault.
Dad had no insight even though he was adult
So often it was me a small and frightened child
Who took the roll of parent even though it drove me wild.
I'm so afraid of darkness because I just can't see
What's waiting 'round that corner robed in secrecy
Is it Mum in a psychosis or Dad not able to see
And how will they react this time when they see me?
Chorus
As part of her illness we had workers everywhere
But they didn't do a lot - sometimes didn't even care
"What about me?" I said, the child in all of this
Who kept us all together, I can't keep this up forever?
And now along comes COMIC a strong and dedicated team.
Striving to get you all to work together on this dream.
Children of parents who are just like mine it seems
Have you ever seen anywhere such a huge and gaping need?
Chorus
Let's plant this gerbera seed and water it every day
Gather like children round in the hope that one day
As new life I am one stem and part of a bouquet
That scream "What about me?" won't be needed today
Chorus
I will remember you will you remember me
My face was one of many too many for you
I screamed "What about me?" And you helped to see me through
