    Tests: Ramnaresh Sarwan, Younis Khan, and Chris Gayle near 5,000 runs. Wasim Jaffer, Mohammad Ashraful, Hashim Amla, and Kamran Akmal near 2000 runs. Brett Lee and Harbhajan Singh near 300 wickets, while Fidel Edwards, and Lasith Malinga near 100 wickets. Sachin Tendulkar nears 100 catches.
    ODI's: Gautam Gambhir, Thomas Odoyo, Brendan Taylor, Jacob Oram, Shahriar Nafees, and Aftab Ahmed near 2,000 runs. Dwayne Bravo nears 100 wickets.
    Recent Records and Achievements
    Tests: Ajantha Mendis becomes the fourth Sri Lankan player to exceed 20 wickets in a 3 Test series. Kumar Sangakkara scores his seventeenth century, and has the highest average by a Sri Lankan player. Kevin Pietersen scores his fourteenth century, and has the highest 50/100 conversion ratio by an England player. Abraham de Villiers dismissed in the nineties for the fifth time. Ajantha Mendis takes five wickets in an innings for the second time. James Anderson becomes the forty second England player to take 100 wickets. Makhaya Ntini takes five wickets in an innings for the eighteenth time and sixth when playing away.
    ODI's: Samit Patel takes five wickets in a match for the first time. Herschelle Gibbs becomes the fourth South African player to take 100 catches. Nuwan Kulasekera records his best performance taking four wickets in the match. Chaminda Vaas becomes the fourth player to take 400 wickets. Ajantha Mendis takes four wickets in a match for the fourth time with all taken when Sri Lanka bowl second. Thilan Thusara records his best performance taking five wickets in a match.
